The Danish synth-pop group We Are The Way For The Cosmos To Know Itself kick off 2019 by releasing a Mads Björn remix of their latest single ‘Sky’ from their acclaimed debut EP ‘Flashbacks’.



The collaboration with Mads, who by now is pretty well-known to the Celebration Family having worked with both In Memoirs and SUNDAYS, came together after he saw the band perform live on a sunny night in Copenhagen and they just blew him away. Right after he approached us wanting to work on some of the songs from the, at the time unreleased EP.



On working with Mads Björn, Julie and Mads from WATWFTCTKI tells us: “It has been really exciting for us to hear his (Mads Björn) version of our song. He has complety reshaped ‘Sky’ and wrapped it an acoustic musical arrangement that we would never have come up with. He has turned it into a ballad. Collaborations are just so much fun, especially when it turns out this way. It is always exciting to have a new set of eyes and ears work on your music. This has inspired us to explore new directions within our music and it is not the last time we are working together with Mads. We are already setting up a co-write session together.”



The day after the new remix is released the band is headlining Tastemaker Festival in Hamburg. In addition to that the band is working on a live-video for one of the tracks from their EP and recording new songs for their debut album. In the spring the band will go on a small tour in Germany and play a few shows in Denmark.


The band has already performed at prestigious Danish festivals such as Roskilde, SmukFest and SPOT and toured Germany multiple times where their fanbase is constantly growing. Their previous singles have all received praise from international renowned blogs and magazines. ‘Don’t Bother’ from their debut EP ‘Flashbacks’ has just been named the 4th best song of 2018 on Shortlist Magazine’s list of the 50 greatest songs of 2018, who also has the Danish trio on their list of ones to watch for 2019. Their songs have been played on radiostations all over the world from KCRW in Santa Monica, Los Angeles to the nationwide P3, P4 and P6 Beat in Denmark and Artefaktor Radio in Mexico City.
